There are multiple opportunities to check-in and share your progress with the community. This will hold you accountable to showing up, practicing authenticity, and being vulnerable with others. Root other members on by sharing words of encouragement on their check-ins as well.
Attend a variety of virtual events via live video conferencing.

I created the Choosing To Heal community as a result of starting my own inner healing journey. I wanted to create a safe space where people could really dig deep and do the work together.
It breaks my heart when I meet people who feel stuck and truly want to change, but just lack the resources and know-how. Rather than trying to make sense of the overwhelming amounts of information out there, I envisioned a structured accountability plan that would be an optimal learning environment for healing.

That’s totally okay! We get you have a life. Our community is designed for you to be able to pick and choose what you want to participate in. How involved you are is totally up to you! If you can’t join live, you can always watch the replays or participate in our community forums at your own pace.
Because we cover such a broad range of topics, there may be some that interest you more than others. When that happens, you are always free to dig in the archives and focus on another topic for that month instead. Plus, we have SO MANY other fun things for you to participate in other than Book Club!
Go you! You can either choose to take a brain break OR re-read it again. You’re bound to pick up additional insight and wisdom you didn’t get the first time you read it! The live discussions, homework and weekly challenges are designed to do have you dive deeper into the content. We also have so many other activities you can dive into!
We get life happens! If you fall behind, you can always catch up later or pick back up next month. The point is that you’re still making progress, even if it’s not perfect (no such thing anyway)!
There is a big misconception that you only have trauma if you go through big, life-altering events like death or war.
The truth is EVERYONE experiences trauma.
Trauma is not what happens to you, but rather the MEANING and BELIEF you create from what happens to you.
For example, if someone doesn’t invite you to prom you may interpret it to mean, “I’m not wanted or loveable”.
You may carry that belief with you into your adult life by unconsciously attracting unavailable partners or people-pleasing to avoid rejection and earn acceptance.
Moral of the story: We all have trauma and we all have work to do to heal those unconscious wounds.
That’s exactly what we do inside of the Choosing To Heal Community!
Many of the books we read reference God, a higher power, or the universe. Feel free to interchange these terms with whatever it is you believe. Spirituality is woven into many aspects of healing. If you have rigid religious beliefs or do not believe in the spiritual realm, this may not be for you.
